The ability to operate this race is due in part to a generous grant from the Wasatch Community Foundation and the Endurance Sports Summit.

The mission of Wasatch Community Foundation is to advance the well-being of all Wasatch County residents by uniting community resources and programs through our different pillars. The mission of Wasatch Community Foundation Recreation Pillar is to provide stewardship of the county’s natural, cultural, and historical resources while fostering the needs of both residents and visitors for recreational pursuits. We aim to enrich the quality of life for our residents by providing a variety of recreation activities, parks and facilities that promote health, wellness, and fun for all ages.

Endurance Sports Summit is an all-day event that coincides with the Valkyrie Relay Race. The Summit brings together manufacturers, retailers, coaches, educators, and event companies, in an expo-style setting. Our goal is to have everyone involved in the endurance community together in one venue to exchange training ideas, learn about endurance-related products and plan out their event calendars for the next year, and to spend a day as a team participating in the Valkyrie Multi-Sport Relay, Heber Valley Marathon and Half, and the Valhalla 5K. As the event grows, we plan to add additional events to the lineup.

If you have an organization or group that would benefit from being part of the fundraising efforts of this race please contact us at info@hebervalleymarathon.com

Heber Valley Marathon and Half

The Heber Valley Marathon & Half, a USATF certified course, course pays homage to Utah’s celebrated Central Wasatch. Marathon and Half. The race begins at Jordanelle Reservoir and travels through the Heber Valley ending and the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center, the location of the Endurance Sports Summit and finish line for the Valkyrie Multisport Relay and Valhalla 5K.

Marathon runners compete on the comparatively cool, scenic highways and country roads of Wasatch County, Midway, and Heber City, Utah. The first half of the full Marathon is a capricious B-line to Midway town center, pairing a 646 ft climb with a 1083 ft descent. The second half (also the Half Marathon) meanders through the tree-lined neighborhoods and past green pastures of Midway and Heber City before arriving at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center (SHNC) and Finish Line at the Endurance Sports Summit.

The finish line of the Heber Valley Marathon is like no other, it is located directly in the center of the Endurance Sport Summit. The Endurance Sports Summit is an all-day event that coincides with the Valkyrie Multisport Relay, Heber Valley Marathon, and Valhalla 5K. The Summit brings together manufacturers, retailers, coaches, educators, and event companies, in an expo-style setting. When you finish your race you can grab some grub, have a beer, buy some new gear, and meet with your family and friend that have been enjoying themselves while you have been on the course killing yourself to get to the finish line.
